Purpose: The Economic Value of Physical Therapy Social Media Campaign Committee supports the IPTA’s mission by designing and implementing a strategic social media campaign that highlights the economic, clinical, and societal value of physical therapy in Illinois. Utilizing national data and reports developed by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the committee will translate research into engaging, accessible content for members, policymakers, partners, and the public.  You can review the APTA's report here.  (The Economic Value of Physical Therapy in the U.S. | Value of PT

This committee plays a critical role in strengthening advocacy, awareness, and professional positioning across Illinois.

Key Responsibilities: Committee members will:

  • Review and interpret APTA economic value and workforce reports.
  • Translate data into clear, engaging, and accurate social media content.
  • Help develop campaign themes, messaging frameworks, and content calendars.
  • Recommend visual concepts, infographics, captions, and storytelling approaches.
  • Ensure messaging aligns with IPTA advocacy priorities and brand voice.
  • Collaborate with IPTA staff and advocacy leaders to support legislative and public awareness goals.
  • Monitor engagement trends and provide recommendations for future campaigns.
  • Support evaluation of campaign impact and effectiveness.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Interest in advocacy, public awareness, and professional promotion.
  • Comfort interpreting data and explaining it in plain language.
  • Creativity in messaging, storytelling, and digital communication.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, etc.).
  • Passion for advancing the physical therapy profession in Illinois.
  • Prior marketing, communications, or advocacy experience is helpful but not required.

Time Commitment

  • Approximately 4-6 hours per month during the campaign development and launch period.
  • Participation in virtual meetings and content review sessions.
