The SNP Chair is responsible for fostering the development of member driven projects and events by supporting the SNP leadership team. The SNP Chair position is held by a PT or PTA new professional, defined as someone in their first 5 years of PT practice.
In collaboration with all SNP leaders and the Director of Leadership Development:
Represents the interests of students and new professionals at monthly Board of Directors Meetings and Strategic Planning
Leads monthly SNP leadership meetings.
Oversees the activities of the SNP SIG throughout the year and at Academy/APTA Conferences.
Meets with the Director of Leadership Development monthly to discuss SIG business
Part of the selection committee for SNP attendance scholarships and for filling SNP SIG leader positions.
Exhibit skills such as leadership, strong communication, willingness to delegate tasks, be able to represent the SNP to the APTA Directors and Executive Committee, be able to retain and attract new members to APTA Pediatrics
Must be willing to advocate based on the best interests of the members of the SNP and APTA Pediatrics
Reports to: Director of Leadership Development
Term: 3 years, with no more than 2 consecutive terms
Must have volunteer/leadership experience within APTA Pediatrics or SNP SIG.
