The Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy will be hosting this bike and run event for 50 children and young adults with diverse abilities at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, CA, in conjunction with the APPT Annual Conference (APPTAC). The goal of this event is to promote physical activity and affirm the Academy’s vision to optimize movement for lifelong meaningful participation of all children. Sponsors and volunteers are working together to make this event special for all those involved.

Volunteers will be required to attend a training on Saturday, Nov 16, at 7:00 am; the event will wrap up around 11:30 am. The training will review the importance of physical fitness for individuals with disabilities and workouts to increase strength and endurance for running. Volunteers will also learn how to perform a basic bike fit and be introduced to some of the bicycle models and modifications available. Following training, attendees will actively participate as a team to inspire these athletes to achieve their fitness goals.
