Volunteer Opportunity Details

The Communications/Social Media Chair is responsible for working with APTA Pediatrics staff to promote Academy activities, events, resources, and initiatives through social media and other communications channels. Duties include:
-          Recruiting and coordinating volunteers to assist with social media initiatives
-          Assisting with social media posting during conferences and educational events
-          Consulting with volunteers and leaders throughout the Academy on using communications/social media to promote Academy activities and resources
-          Consulting with Academy staff on communications about practice issues and other professional matters relevant to our social media audience
-          Other duties as assigned by the Director of Member Communications and Public Relations.

While no specific experience is required, the ideal candidate will:
-          be familiar with the Academy’s structure and activities
-          understand the basics of using social media
-          have strong written and verbal communication skills
-          be able to organize and motivate other volunteers
