The American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS), the governing body for certification and recertification for clinical specialists in physical therapy, is accepting nominations for 1 board-certified clinical specialist in clinical electrophysiology, 1 board-certified clinical specialist in neurology, and 1 board-certified clinical specialist in oncology. Appointments are for 4-year terms beginning July 1, 2020, and one of these individuals will also be eligible to fill the ABPTS chair position in the third year of their term.
Members of ABPTS may not concurrently hold a primary APTA section/academy office (ie, president, vice president, secretary, or treasurer), as it could present a conflict of interest between the 2 groups.
Experience with Specialty Council or related activities (eg, external Professional Development Portfolio reviewer, standard setting participant), Specialization Academy of Content Experts (SACE), and/or American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education (ABPTRFE) is required. Recency of active engagement will be taken into consideration during selection process.
