The Content Review Committee will serve to review the APTA Geriatric’s Regional Courses’ content to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and relevance of techniques and resources used or referenced at the courses. The Regional Courses include Hybrid Certified Exercise Experts for the Aging Adult (Hybrid CEEAA) and Balance & Fall Prevention in Community-Dwelling Older Adults Professional Credential (Balance & Falls).
The committee should comprise of five to nine Physical Therapists from various backgrounds including, but not limited to, clinicians and academics.
Committee Member Duties:
· Meet monthly with the committee and Regional Course Coordinator (APTA Geriatrics staff).
· Review goals and objectives of the Regional Courses to ensure that content of the courses meets these competencies.
· Create or review standards for knowledge for the Regional Courses.
· Review course materials and supplements, including online modules, lecture slides and manuals, and lab manuals, to ensure content is timely, accurate, and relevant for the course.
· Review and revise course practical exams, skills checks, and final exams to ensure competencies are understood and this knowledge has been retained.
· Propose recommendations for changes, removals, or additions to course competencies, content, practical exams and skills checks, and examinations.
· Discuss and determine best practices for inclusion in course content with other committee members when there are multiple ways to complete an exam, test, or measure.
· Review or create supplemental materials for the Regional Courses, as requested.
Expectations:
· Attend most monthly meetings. Committee members should not miss more than two (2) consecutive meetings.
· Complete all reviews and proposals by set deadlines.
Time Commitment: This is a volunteer position with an expected average of 10-15 hours of work per month; there will be periods of time where more or less time is required.
