The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), in collaboration with ISHA, will soon begin the development of a new Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) focused on Hip Preservation. We are seeking one qualified APTA member expert to join the work group for this important project, and participate in the guideline development process.
To maintain the integrity of the guideline development process, AAOS kindly requests that all nominees meet the following requirements:
• Be free of any relevant financial conflicts of interest and commit to signing an attestation form, affirming their commitment to remain conflict-free throughout the guideline process and for two years following the approval of the guideline by the AAOS Board of Directors.
• Complete the AAOS Conflict of Interest disclosure form online. It's important to note that AAOS staff will also review any conflict of interest data available via CMS Open Payments.
• Clarify any conflicts that may be considered relevant. Please be aware that financial conflicts unrelated to the scope of this CPG will not disqualify participation.
Members of the workgroup will be expected to attend two mandatory virtual meetings—an introductory meeting and a final meeting. They will also participate via email and teleconference as necessary throughout the guideline development process. It's worth mentioning that once the development workgroup has been assembled, AAOS will poll the group to determine suitable dates for these meetings.
AAOS is also extending an opportunity to APTA to nominate additional members for the Key Informants (KI) Panel for this guideline. The KI Panel comprises clinicians who are not part of the development workgroup but wish to contribute their expertise. As key informants, participants will be tasked with reviewing introductory material, submitting guideline recommendation topics via survey, reviewing the PICO list after it has been developed by the workgroup, and acting as peer reviewers once the guideline has been developed. Notably, there are no financial conflict of interest restrictions for Key Informant Panel members.
Please submit your CV and whether you would like to be considered for the AAOS CPG Work Group or for the AAOS Key Informants Panel.
Deadline is September 10, 2024.
