The American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS), the governing body for certification and recertification for clinical specialists in physical therapy, is accepting nominations for 1 board-certified clinical specialist in geriatrics and 1 board-certified clinical specialist in pediatrics. Appointments are for 4-year terms beginning July 1, 2019, and one of these individuals will also be eligible to fill the ABPTS chair position in the third year of their term.
Eligibility Requirements:
Members of ABPTS may not concurrently hold a primary APTA section office (ie, president, vice president, secretary, or treasurer), as it could present a conflict of interest between the 2 groups.
Experience with Specialty Council or related activities (eg, external Professional Development Portfolio reviewer, standard setting participant), Specialization Academy of Content Experts (SACE), and/or American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education (ABPTRFE) is required. Recency of active engagement will be taken into consideration during selection process.
