ABPTRFE Accreditation Fee Task Force

The American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education is seeking volunteers for a task force that will advise the board on matters pertaining to the department’s financial needs, growth, and stability based on a review of current revenue and expenditures. The task force shall present a report to ABPTRFE in April 2022 with an interim report presented in January 2022.

Applications are due to by September 15, 2021. Appointments will occur by September 30, 2021.


APTA staff shall appoint six individuals to serve on the ABPTRFE Accreditation Fee Task Force. One member from ABPTRFE shall serve as liaison to the task force.

Term of Appointment

October 1, 2021 – April 30, 2021

Qualifications for Appointees

  • Experience with accreditation and/or non-profit finance (i.e. Component Treasurer)
  • Proven financial leadership in the members’ professional life
  • Ability to see the big picture but also understands the subtleties of accreditation/non-profit finance
  • Experience with accreditation processes
  • Must be an APTA member in good standing


  • Review APTA Residency/Fellowship Education department historical budget and future forecast.
  • Review benchmarking data on current accreditation fee structures.
  • Identify budgetary gaps or inefficient budget structures.
  • Provide a report recommending an accreditation fee structure for implementation in 2024.


This task force will meet monthly using a virtual platform.
