Pediatrics - Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee Social Media Representative

Description:

APTA Pediatrics is seeking a DPT student, PTA student, Pediatric PTA, or Pediatric PT to volunteer to serve on the APTA Pediatrics DEI committee as a social media representative for at least a three-year term.

Application: If interested, please send a statement (no longer than 100 words) on how your social media knowledge and experience can help improve/facilitate the APTA Pediatrics DEI committee efforts to increase DEI within the Academy of Pediatric PT to Mica Mitchell at mimitchell@methodist.edu.

Duties include:

  • Creating visual graphics and written content for social media from the APTA Pediatrics DEI committee;
  • Posting content as needed to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter on behalf of APTA Pediatrics DEI committee;
  • Visiting APTA Pediatrics social media periodically (as assigned by the chair);
  • Responding appropriately to comments/questions on behalf of APTA Pediatrics as needed.

Training: New representatives will complete a short onboarding training in how to use our social media platforms, use of Academy branding, communications, and use of Canva software to create content for social media. 

Qualifications:

Student

-2nd- or 3rd-Year DPT student or final year PTA student who has taken a pediatric elective or clinical rotation

-Demonstrates a sincere interest in pediatric physical therapy practice beyond graduation

-Demonstrates knowledge and experience using social media 

-Has demonstrated previous or current leadership in supporting or allying with DEI efforts 

PTA/PT

-Pediatric PTA or PT who demonstrates knowledge and experience using social media 

-Pediatric PTA or PT who has demonstrated previous or current leadership in supporting or allying with DEI efforts 

Funding:  No funding is anticipated.  Work will be completed by volunteer members who will do the work remotely/virtually.
