Volunteer Opportunity Details

The American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS), the governing body for certification and recertification for clinical specialists in physical therapy, is accepting nominations from physical therapists with a focus in primary care physical therapy to fill four positions on the initial Primary Care Specialty Panel. Appointments are for four-year terms beginning Jan. 1, 2026. The nomination submission deadline is Oct. 15, 2025.

Eligibility Requirements:
Individuals seeking appointment to this ABPTS Specialty Panel must have the following qualifications: 1) must be a physical therapist with subject matter expertise in the newly approves primary care specialty area; 2) show evidence of effective group participation; and 3) demonstrate the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner. Preference will be given to candidates with past exam development and item writing experience.
