Physical Therapy Community — We Need You at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games!
More than 3,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities will arrive in Minneapolis June 19–26, 2026 to compete in 16 sports at the Special Olympics USA Games. To help these athletes perform at their best, we’re calling on PTs, PTAs, students, colleagues, friends, and family to join us as volunteers.
Why Volunteer
You’ll provide essential support to an underserved population, gain hands‑on experience, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and help create an empowering, inclusive Games experience for every athlete.
Healthy Athletes Program Provide screenings in FUNfitness and Fit Feet, helping athletes move with confidence and reduce injury risk. These roles are open to PTs/PTAs licensed in any state, as well as students.
Sideline Medical Care & Performance & Recovery Stations Support athletes before and after competition with hands‑on care, education, and recovery strategies. You’ll work alongside nutritionists and other professionals in a holistic, athlete‑centered environment. These roles are for clinicians licensed in Minnesota.
Administrative Roles Non‑clinical volunteer opportunities are available across all program areas.
If you’re passionate about inclusion, movement, and empowering athletes, this is your chance to make a meaningful impact. Join us in Minneapolis — sign up today!
