APTA MN Nominating Committee Member 

 

Committee Purpose 

  1. To assure the continuity and effectiveness of the Board, Chapter Delegates, and other elected volunteer leadership. 

  1. Responsible for identifying and recruiting individuals from the membership to run for open APTA MN positions, who are willing to serve and posses the minimum criteria required for the position. 

  1. Work to assure volunteer growth by exposing interested individuals to a wide range of roles and assignments. 

 

Terms of Office 

This is an elected three-year position. Duties are assumed July 1st. There is no term limit. 

 

Responsibilities 

  1. Provides information necessary for the development of Strategic Plan and budget. 

  1. Contributes to the development of the Chapter goals, committee action plans, and budget as requested by the committee chair. 

  1. Completes assigned tasks and finished activities on a timely basis to the appropriate individual. 

  1. Provides information necessary for inclusion in the Committee Chair’s reports. 

  1. Abides by all of the decisions of the Board of Directors. 

 

Qualifications 

  1. Member in good standing in the APTA and APTA Minnesota. 

  1. Has sufficient knowledge of APTA MN structure to direct inquiries to the appropriate committee/areas of responsibility. 

  1. Commitment to the Chapter’s strategic plan and goals. 

  1. Has good planning, organizational and leadership skills. 

 

Attendance/Workload Expectations 

  1. Spring Conference (in person presence on the day of primary conference programming). 

  1. All scheduled committee meetings (meetings are typically 1x/month from September – February and are conducted by video in the evening). 

  1. Committee members spend approximately 1 hr/month on the following activities: soliciting and identifying potential candidates, contacting potential candidates by phone and email, and following-up with identified candidates to secure biographical sketch and consent to serve forms. 

 

Resignation 

Submits a letter of resignation to the chair of the committee. 

 Dismissal 

Dismissal would be by the Committee Chair or the Board of Directors. 

  1. Non-compliance with Chapter policies and procedures or unethical conduct as outlined in the APTA Code of Ethics. 

  1. Failure to perform duties as appointed by the chair. 

  1. Failure to attend committee meetings.

2 to 3 years volunteer experience
