Volunteer Opportunity Details

APTA is seeking volunteers who are current House delegates with 1.5 or more years’ experience to serve as delegate buddies to new delegates as part of a new program established to help new delegates understand their roles. The role of the delegate buddy is to serve as a resource to new delegates and to offer guidance as necessary. Buddies will attend quarterly virtual new delegate gatherings and make themselves available throughout the House cycle to answer questions and offer clarification about House process as needed.

Only current delegates with 1.5 or more years’ experience can volunteer for this opportunity. Currently there are four, one-hour virtual gatherings scheduled between April and December 2024 that buddies are encouraged to attend. Other engagements could include online discussion to answer questions of new delegates and possibly informal get-togethers while onsite in Kansas City, MO, during the July House of Delegates.
