Description:

If interested in this position, please send your CV to Laurie Ray at laurie_ray@med.unc.edu.

The Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy and School SIG annually offer the Innovations in School-based Physical Therapy Practice course which provides both foundational information and advanced practice content for school-based practice. Sessions provide information on decision-making and educationally relevant physical therapy services to support educational programs for students with disabilities. Nationally recognized speakers address federal laws, assessment, service provision, clinical education, mentoring, and innovations in practice. This national course works with Academy and School SIG leadership to attain the Academy’s Vision, Mission and all three Goals (to advocate, collaborate, and elevate). Innovations in SBPT affords a unique opportunity for school-based practitioners to connect, re-charge, and learn together. There are two volunteer course coordinators that identify local hosts, work with an annually constituted program committee to determine needed content and manage all logistics and details in partnership with Academy staff and local hosts.
