Description:

Location, Location, Location

APTA National
is seeking members to participate on an advisory work group charged with generating ideas that will be used to determine the best use of a community facing space.

APTA Centennial Center in Alexandria, Virginia
is optimally located to capture the attention of “passer-byers” to observe activities that visually represent the mission and vision for the profession:

  • Mission: “Building a community that advances the profession of physical therapy to improve the health of society”
  • Vision: “Transforming society by optimizing movement to improve the human experience”

APTA Centennial Center is adjacent to a common sidewalk, public plaza and fitness trail that is located in an expanding business corridor. On the first floor of APTA Centennial Center and visible to the public; sits a 1200 square foot space, referred to as PT Flex Space (PTFS). The PTFS is appointed with floor to ceiling windows and is an ideal space to host activities that will highlight the effectiveness of physical therapy services while showcasing the importance of movement. Activities conducted in this space should be dynamic and interactive while engaging the community and activating this corridor to reach it’s “wellness potential”.

Complete the attached application and share a sample of your best ideas. We look forward to "brainstorming" with you.

The Flex Space Member Work Group (FSMWG)
will offer recommendations that will assist APTA’s senior leadership’s charge to achieve the following goals:
