APTA National - Contribute a story to APTA

Starts: 09-09-2020
Location: Online Opportunity

Have a story to tell?

We welcome content suggestions and may publish submissions that are timely and of general interest to the physical therapy profession.

Here are examples of things we’re looking for, but please note that submission does not guarantee publication:

  • Volunteer stories: Share how volunteering for APTA has impacted your life or member experience. Ideal length is 500 words or less.
  • APTA love stories: Describe the moment you fell in love with your association. Ideal length is 300 words or less.
  • Personal perspectives: Write about relevant issues affecting our profession and association. New and original ideas and topics are always welcome. Ideal length is 750-1,000 words, but please send us your idea for review and approval first. Review the “Before you begin writing” section below.
  • Story ideas: Know of a story we might be interested in but don’t feel like writing it yourself? Share your idea with us.

Before you start writing, please note the following:

  • All authors must be APTA members in good standing.
  • We do not publish submissions that are promotional in nature.
  • While clinical practice topics are welcome, this opportunity is not for those seeking publication in a scientific journal.
  • We are under no obligation to publish all submissions, and we maintain editorial control to determine when, where, and for how long any accepted submission is published.
  • We may edit submissions for clarity, style, and space.
  • All accepted submissions become copyrighted property of APTA.
  • Submissions that have been published elsewhere will not be accepted.
  • Author photo(s) including a headshot and any photo(s) pertaining to the article, along with an author bio are required for publishing.

If you would like to share a story, click the apply button on this page along with a brief description of your proposed story. Except for the volunteer and APTA love stories described above, we recommend you do not submit a completed article. Staff will contact you regarding next steps if your topic is selected for development.
