APTA National - APTA Health Systems Council Steering Group Member 2023

The APTA Health Systems Council is a community for stakeholders associated with major health systems who have a special interest in influencing the development of innovative models of care and outcomes measurements, improving coordination across the continuum of care, promoting the value of physical therapists in major health systems, and developing or adopting best practices by such systems.

A major health system is an organization that consists of an acute care hospital and a combination of other post-acute care facilities in the continuum of care. The organization may offer care in a variety of integrated clinical settings, such as acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, home care, skilled nursing facilities, and outpatient clinics.

This council is seeking eight members to serve on the steering group for a one year term. 

Requirements as Steering Group member:

• Must be a member of the APTA Health Systems Council 
• Must be an APTA member in good standing
• Clinical and administrative experience within a large health system
• An interest in developing networking opportunities and events for Health Systems leaders
• Leadership experience with strategic planning
• A CV is required with your application           

Preferred Qualifications:

• Project and program management experience.
• Has global understanding of health care landscape and current/potential role of health systems in this space.
• An understanding of rehabilitation across the care continuum
• Staff management experience
• Experience developing and promoting clinical and educational programs

Responsibilities: 

• Participate in steering group meetings and council meetings 
• Support efforts to foster council member driven communication and networking
