The APTA Health Systems Network is seeking a chair and co-chair to serve one-year and two-year terms, respectively. By applying for this opportunity you are volunteering to serve in either the chair or co-chair positions.
The APTA Health Systems Network is a community for stakeholders associated with major health systems who have a special interest in influencing the development of innovative models of care and outcomes measurements, improving coordination across the continuum of care, promoting the value of physical therapists in major health systems, and developing or adopting best practices by such systems.
A major health system is an organization that consists of an acute care hospital and a combination of other post-acute care facilities in the continuum of care. The organization may offer care in a variety of integrated clinical settings, such as acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, home care, skilled nursing facilities, and outpatient clinics.
Requirements:
• Must be a member of the APTA Health Systems Network
• Must be an APTA member in good standing
• Clinical and administrative experience within a large health system
• An interest in developing networking opportunities and events for Health Systems leaders
• Leadership experience with strategic planning
• A CV is required with your application
Responsibilities of the Chair:
• Lead network meetings (1 in-person meetings per year and up to 6 full network virtual meetings)
• Lead efforts to foster network member driven communication and engagement
• Partner with the Board liaison and the APTA staff liaison to the network to provide regular updates to the APTA Board
Responsibilities of the Co-chair:
• Support chair in developing meeting agendas and networking efforts
• Transition into the chair position in year two of term.
Please note that the term for chair is Jan. 1, 2024 - Dec. 31, 2024. The term for co-chair is Jan. 1, 2024 - Dec. 31, 2025. This is to establish staggered terms. In future appointment cycles, only a two-year co-chair position will be open, as this position will assume the chair position in year two.
