APTA is seeking four members to serve a two-year term on the Practice and Service Awards Subcommittee.
CHARGE
The Awards subcommittees will apply the criteria established by the Board of Directors (Board) for each association honor and award to each nomination received for each award under its purview and make recommendations to the Board regarding award recipients.
The Board of Director’s determined charge for each Awards Subcommittee is to:
• Review award nominations received for each award that falls under the subcommittee's purview against the applicable criteria established by the Board.
• Recommend potential recipients to the Awards Committee for final review.
• Review and make recommendations on proposals for new awards applicable to the subcommittee's award category and provide feedback on the utility of the criteria and measurement tools for existing awards within the subcommittee's purview.
This subcommittee will review nominations received for the following awards:
• Henry O. and Florence P. Kendall Practice Award
• Lucy Blair Service Award
• Marilyn Moffat Leadership Award
• Outstanding Physical Therapist Assistant Award
• Outstanding Physical Therapist/Physical Therapist Assistant Team Award
• Humanitarian Award
• Societal Impact Award
QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTEES
• Must have expertise in clinical practice
• include one physical therapist assistant member; and
• In recognition of the history and establishment of the Henry O. and Florence P. Kendall Practice Award, qualified members from the Maryland Chapter will be given preference during the selection process to serve on the Practice & Service Awards Subcommittee. If no Maryland Chapter representative is identified, the Henry O. and Florence P. Kendall Practice Award will be reviewed per standard procedure by those appointed.
• For review and recommendation of the Henry O. and Florence P. Kendall Practice Award only: Preference is given to qualified Maryland Chapter members; if no chapter representative is identified, then the award will be reviewed per standard procedure by those appointed.
MEETINGS
This subcommittee meets virtually two times per year between December and March. Additional virtual calls will be scheduled, as needed.
