Qualifications for Appointees
- Familiarity with the qualifications for and work capacity needed for the various roles on the APTA Board of Directors.
- Experience working with operational budgets and analyzing financial information to make recommendations on future expenditures.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize information at a fast pace.
- Experience working and collaborating with others remotely.
Meetings
The Special Committee to Determine Board Honoraria is expected to meet virtually via webinars and conference calls to meet the charge during the established timeframe.
Size of Appointed Group
APTA Chief Executive Officer (non-voting member) and, to be appointed by the House Officers, 1 non-Board member of the APTA Finance and Audit Committee, 3 chapter chief delegates, 1 section delegate, and 1 member of the APTA Nominating Committee. Appointees to the special committee shall not be current candidates for a national APTA office.
Terms of Appointees
Members of this committee shall serve for up to 4 months, beginning September 2019, and ending November 2019.
Charge (from APTA House Policy: Honoraria for Board of Directors)
Members of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Board of Directors (Board) shall receive an annual honorarium in addition to the allowable expense reimbursements. The amount of the honorarium shall be reviewed and determined by a special committee of the House of Delegates every 5 years, beginning in 2020.
