Description:

​The APTA Student Assembly Board of Directors is seeking interested individuals to apply to become a member of the 2020-2021 Advocacy Project Committee.

Mission: The work of this committee aligns with the Student Assembly's goal to promote advancement of the physical therapy profession to better serve the needs of society by facilitating student involvement with advocacy efforts. This committee works with APTA staff to promote advocacy efforts from the APTA, particularly National Advocacy Dinners and the Flash Action Strategy. This includes educating students on current public policy issues and the importance of advocacy for our patients and our profession; serving as a National Advocacy Dinner coordinator to an assigned region; and advancing advocacy and policy initiatives in other ways as tasked by the Student Assembly Board of Directors.

Est. Time Commitment: Up to 5 hours per week to prepare for and during peak APTA advocacy season (February, March, April, and May 2021); 1-2 hours per week for the rest of the term (January 2021 - December 2021).
