Are you interested in being more involved and learning more about the PTA Caucus and House of Delegates? We are seeking SPTAs to apply for the PTA Caucus Regional Student Liaison for the Western, Midwest, Northeastern Mid-Atlantic, and Southern Regions. This is an opportunity to learn more about House of Delegates (HOD), governance of our profession, and PTA involvement at the national level.  The liaison position provides excellent networking opportunities, allowing students to find mentors who can help accelerate their career development. 

The HOD is composed of delegates from chapters, sections, the PTA Caucus, Student Assembly, and Board of Directors. HOD is the highest deliberative body of the APTA and meets annually over 3 days in September. Attendance at HOD is not required but is strongly encouraged.

Duties:

  • Attend the monthly PTA Caucus virtual meetings for your assigned region
  • Attend quarterly PTA Caucus Town Hall virtual meetings
  • Work with your Regional PTA Caucus Delegate on Student Projects
  • Communicate with the Director of SPTA Relations to increase SPTA involvement
  • Share your experiences and keep other students up to date on professional issues via social media

 

Requirements:

  • 1st or 2nd year SPTA
  • Time Commitment: 2-7 hours per month 
  • Term: October 2020 – Sept 2021
