Description:

Purpose: The State of the PT Profession in Illinois Report Committee is responsible for developing a comprehensive, data-driven report that summarizes salary trends, educational costs, workforce patterns, and career outcomes for physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and students in Illinois. This report will serve as a foundational advocacy, workforce, and strategic planning resource for IPTA, members, educators, policymakers, and partners.

Key Responsibilities: Committee members will:

  • Review and analyze workforce, salary, and education cost data from APTA, state, and academic sources.
  • Help define report structure, key themes, and priority findings.
  • Translate complex data into clear, meaningful insights.
  • Assist with narrative development, charts, and summaries.
  • Ensure accuracy, clarity, and relevance of all report content.
  • Collaborate with IPTA staff, advocacy leaders, and workforce stakeholders.
  • Contribute to final recommendations and future planning considerations.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Interest in workforce development, education, policy, or professional sustainability.
  • Comfort reviewing and discussing data and trends.
  • Strong critical thinking and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to advancing the future of physical therapy in Illinois.
  • Prior research, education, practice ownership, or leadership experience is helpful but not required.

Time Commitment

  • Approximately 6-8 hours per month during the report development cycle, including virtual meetings and review sessions.
