Description:

APTA National is seeking members to participate on an advisory work group charged with generating ideas that will be used to guide APTA’s determination for the best use of a community facing room located in APTA's headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia - APTA Centennial Center.

PT Flex Space (PTFS), appointed with floor to ceiling windows, is a highly visible room located on the first floor of APTA’s headquarters. The 1200 square foot room is adjacent to a public plaza, visible to a fitness trail and an expanding business corridor.

An agreement with local officials requires APTA to use this space and the adjacent plaza to host regularly scheduled activities that highlights the importance of health and wellness. All activities considered should be dynamic and interactive while engaging the community and activating this corridor to reach it’s “wellness potential”. In considering the types of activities that might be offered for use of this space there should be a visual representation of the mission and vision statement and the profession.

APTA’s Vision and Mission statement:

Vision - “Transforming society by optimizing movement to improve the human experience” Mission - “Building a community that advances the profession of physical therapy to improve the health of society”
