Description:

APTA is seeking student volunteers to serve as House ushers at the 2022 House of Delegates in Washington, D.C., August 14-15.

House ushers serve a vital role in the efficiency of the House and have the opportunity to see first-hand how APTA’s House of Delegates functions and to learn from dedicated and experienced members as they set policy and direction for the profession. Past House ushers have found this a rewarding experience in their leadership journey.

Volunteers must be available on the following days and times:

  • Saturday, August 13, between 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM ET (specific time TBD) for a one-hour orientation
  • Saturday, August 13, 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM ET for set-up
  • Sunday, August 14, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM ET
  • Monday, August 15, from 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM ET

If you are a student enrolled in a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant program and are interested in serving as an usher, please be sure to read the responsibilities and eligibility requirements before applying. If applying, please stay up to date with the email address associated with your APTA Engage profile as this will be how we will contact you if selected as a volunteer. If you have questions, please email: governancehouse@apta.org.

  • Available to volunteer August 13-15 during the times indicated above.

Selection Process:

Selection will be made at random while taking into consideration geographic diversity and equal representation of schools.
