APTA National - Council of Prevention, Health Promotion, and Wellness Steering Group Member 2020

The Council on Prevention, Health Promotion, and Wellness is a community for stakeholders who have a special interest in developing and disseminating best practices in prevention, health promotion, and wellness (PHPW), promoting understanding of the role of the physical therapist in providing PHPW services, serving as a resource for association components and external groups related to that role, providing opportunities for council members to gain knowledge and to access tools and other resources to provide PHPW services, and connecting PHPW stakeholders to catalyze positive change in society’s health beliefs and behaviors.

This council is seeking 3 steering group members to serve a 1 year term. 


Requirements as Chair:

• Must be a member of the Council on Prevention, Health Promotion, and Wellness

• Must be an APTA member in good standing

Responsibilities: 

• Participate in  steering group meetings and council meetings (up to 2 in-person meetings per year at CSM and/or NEXT conference, up to 6 full council virtual meetings, and up to 12 council steering group virtual meetings) 
• Support efforts to foster council member driven communication and networking
