Description:

The Frontiers in Rehabilitation Science and Research (FiRST) Council is seeking 1 individual to serve a 1 year term as chair of the council. The FiRST Council is a community for stakeholders who have a special interest in promoting scientific and technological innovation in rehabilitation and movement sciences and in leveraging scientific and technological discoveries to advance physical therapist practice, education, and research.

Requirements as Chair:
  • Must be a member of the FiRST Council
  • Must be a PT or PTA member in good standing or an individual ineligible for APTA membership
  • A CV is required with your application

Responsibilities: 
  • Facilitate steering group meetings and council meetings (up to 2 in-person meetings per year at CSM and/or NEXT conference and up to 6 full council virtual meetings) 
  • Lead efforts to foster council member driven communication and networking
  • Partner with the Board liaison and the APTA staff liaison to the council to provide regular updates to the APTA Board
