Description:

We are seeking student volunteers to serve as House ushers at the 2021 House of Delegates in Washington, D.C., September 11-12.

House ushers have the opportunity to see first-hand how APTA’s House of Delegates, a policy-making body of the association, functions. House ushers gain a better understanding of how the profession works and have the opportunity to learn from dedicated and experienced physical therapists as they set policy for the profession. House ushers serve an important role in the efficiency of the House by assisting with operation of the audience response system, serving as messengers between delegations, and as door monitors during House meetings. This is a rewarding experience that many students have taken advantage of and this year, you can too!

Volunteers must be available on Friday September 10, for a one-hour orientation; on Saturday, September 11, from 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, ET; and on Sunday, September 12, from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM, ET.

If you are a student enrolled in a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant program and are interested in serving as an usher, please be sure to read the responsibilities and eligibility requirements before applying. If applying, please stay up to date with the email address associated with your APTA Engage profile as this will be how we will contact you if selected as a volunteer. If you have any questions, please email: governancehouse@apta.org
