Description:

Purpose: The Cash- and Niche-Based Practice Symposium Planning Committee supports the IPTA’s mission by designing, developing, and delivering a high-quality educational symposium that empowers physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, students, and practice owners to explore innovative practice models, emerging niches, and sustainable business strategies.

Committee members collaborate to shape program content, identify expert speakers, and create a dynamic learning experience that reflects the evolving landscape of physical therapy practice.

The event is planned to take place on Saturday, September 26, 2026 (Location TBD)

Key Responsibilities: Committee members will:

  • Assist in developing the symposium vision, theme, and learning objectives.
  • Identify and recommend speakers, topics, and emerging practice areas.
  • Support speaker outreach, session development, and content alignment.
  • Participate in planning meetings and collaborative working sessions.
  • Contribute ideas for marketing, engagement strategies, and attendee experience.
  • Provide input on symposium format (in-person, virtual, or hybrid).
  • Support on-site or virtual execution of the event as needed.
  • Assist with post-event evaluation and recommendations for future programming.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Interest in cash-based, hybrid, or niche practice models.
  • Passion for innovation, entrepreneurship, and professional growth in physical therapy.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to contribute ideas, time, and energy to a team-based project.
  • Prior event planning or educational programming experience is helpful but not required.

Time Commitment

  • Approximately 4-6 hours per month during the planning cycle.
  • Participation in scheduled virtual meetings and symposium event support.
