Description:

Join our network of SPTAs and PTAs to learn about and discuss APTA’s House of Delegates (HOD). HOD can be overwhelming for seasoned representatives, let alone for APTA members attending and observing for the first time. The APTA Student Assembly Board of Directors and PTA Caucus would like to help foster the in-person learning, collaboration, and community that may be missed this year with HOD going virtual. We hope to recreate part of the excitement that’s generated in the HOD gallery while learning together how HOD works. Join this group to learn the ins and outs of HOD in a comfortable virtual space, ask questions big and small, collaborate, and connect.

Joining this network gives you access to:

1. Intro to the House of Delegates Virtual Meet-Up
on Tuesday, May 26, 8:30 pm ET

You’ll learn all about HOD from PTA Caucus leaders David Harris and Jeannie Thompson. This virtual meet-up will explain what events are available to PTAs, how HOD works, and what roles PTAs have in the House.

David Harris, PTA, MBA, is Vice President on Integrations at BenchMark Rehab and currently serves as the Chief Delegate for APTA’s PTA Caucus, is a board chair for the Tennessee Physical Therapy Licensing Board and is the Reimbursement Chair for the Tennessee Chapter.

Jeannie Thompson, PTA, is a retired Instructor from Mt. Hood Community College and currently serves as the PTA Caucus Representative for the Oregon Chapter and the co-chair for the PTA Caucus Practice Work Group. On the chapter level, she served on the Oregon Chapter Board of Directors and was liaison to their Nominating and Membership committees, and she was co-chair to the OPTA’s Leadership Pathway, strategic planning team, and Governance Review Task Force.
